You Need to Try This Tuna Cheese Melts and Potato Salad Recipe

If you're looking to add more seafood to your diet, this tuna cheese melt recipe is exactly how you can do it. You don't need to make a complicated and expensive recipe to enjoy seafood. Seafood has many benefits, including less fat and calories compared to red meat.

We recommend using American cheese with this recipe, but you can easily use whatever other cheese you want. Swiss cheese is another great cheese for tuna melts. Garlic salt and sour cream aren't commonly used to make tuna, but we think the combination makes for an excellent tuna melt.

Serve these tuna melts with potato salad. You can find deli-made potato salad in most grocery stores, either directly from the deli or packaged in a different section. Macaroni salad is another great alternative. If you want to keep dinner super simple, just have some potato chips!

Tuna Cheese Melts and Potato Salad

Ingredients:

½ cup sour cream
½ teaspoon garlic salt
8 slices light rye bread
1 can (6 ounces) tuna, drained and flaked
2 Tablespoons mayonnaise
4 slices American cheese
4 Tablespoons butter, divided
1 pound deli potato salad

Directions:

1. In a small bowl, combine sour cream and garlic salt. Spread on one side of each slice of bread.

2. In another small bowl, combine tuna and mayonnaise. Spread on 4 slices of bread.

3. Top with cheese and remaining bread, gently press together.

4. Melt 2 Tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

5. Add two sandwiches, toast sandwich is until bread is lightly browned on both sides and cheese is melted.

6. Repeat with remaining butter and sandwiches. Serve with deli potato salad. Makes 4 servings.

To top
