To create this diversity list, we consulted many factors and sources. Our primary research was completed on the website Niche and the website called Public School Review. Another important metric is the public school diversity score, which measures a school based on the ethnic groups enrolled. Keep in mind that we’re only looking at public schools and colleges. Elementary School: Midway Park Elementary School

According to Public School Review, Midway Park Elementary School in Euless, TX, is one of the most diverse in the state. The school has a diversity score of 0.80, which is one of the best in Texas. The school has a mix of 52% female and 48% male students. As far as the mix of students, over 80% of the enrollment is made up of minorities: 14% are Asian, 20% are Hispanic, 30% are Black, 19% are White, and 7% are two or more races. These numbers are significantly higher than the state average. Beyond that, Midway Park Elementary School is a high-quality institution with great teachers. As far as academics, 58% of students are proficient in math, which is above the state average of 41%. The teacher-to-student ratio is also higher, which is another indicator that this school is a great one. Other diverse schools in the city of Euless include South Euless Elementary School, Wilshire Elementary School, and Central J High School.

Elementary School: Viridian Elementary School

Over 95% of students are proficient in reading, language arts, and math, which is much higher than most of the other schools in the country. The diversity rating at the School for the Highly Gifted is 0.78, and minority enrollment is 74%. The gender breakdown is 63% male and 37% female. The other reason for the school’s 0.77 diversity score is due to the breakdown of the student backgrounds. 19% of the students are Asian, 23% of them are Hispanic, 29% are Black, 25% are White, and 4% are two or more races. This high school is part of the National School Lunch Program, and 35% of the students are eligible for free lunch.

High School: Trinity High School

Trinity High School is located in Euless, Texas, and has an enrollment of over 2,600 students. Minority enrollment at Trinity is at 75%, which is slightly above the state average of 74%. When you break it down, 11% of the students are Asian, 29% are Hispanic, 26% are Black, 25% are White, and 6% are two or more races. The school has a diversity rating of 0.78, which is above the state average of 0.64. The academics here are mixed. While 98% of students graduate, the school ranks in the bottom 50% when it comes to test scores. Still, 56% of the students are proficient in math. However, only 10-14% are proficient in reading and language arts. With the involvement of parents at home, students can still do well at Trinity and feel welcome.

High School: Glenda Dawson High School

Glenda Dawson is another one of the most diverse schools in Texas. The school has over 2,500 students in grades 9-12, and the teachers help the students achieve test scores that rank within the top 20% of all schools in Texas. Math proficiency is decent at 62%, and reading and language arts comprehension are at 65%, which is above the state average. When it comes to diversity, Glenda Dawson gets a score of 0.77, which is good. 53% of the students are male and 47% are female. The race breakdown is as follows: 19% of students are Asian, 24% are Hispanic, 24% are Black, 29% are White, and 4% are two or more races. This school does participate in the National School Lunch Program. Finally, the school boasts a 98% graduation rate.

High School: William B Travis High School

Overall, 79% of the enrollment is made up of minorities. The high school also has relatively high marks when it comes to academics. The school ranks in the top 30% when it comes to test scores. Also, there’s a 48% math proficiency and a 68% proficiency in reading and language skills.

College: Rice University

On the college level, one of the most diverse schools in Texas is Rice University. According to the school ranking site, Niche, Rice is the most diverse of all colleges in the state. The college is known for its top-notch education. They are constantly ranked #1 for several of their programs, including their kinesiology, sports management, and architecture majors. Rice University is also highly rated from a diversity standpoint. Of all the undergrads, 52% are male and 48% are female. Ethnically, 8% are Black, 28% are Asian, 16% are Hispanic, 30% are White, 5% are multiracial, and 12% are international. Further proof of the diversity at Rice comes from the household income levels of the students. 26% of students come from households that make less than $30,000, 24% come from households of $30-48k, and it continues from there. Rice is a great university that’s very accepting of all students, regardless of background.

College: University of Houston

The University of Houston is another very diverse college in Texas. The University has many rankings on Niche.com, including being one of the best Hispanic-serving institutions in America, one of the best colleges for accounting and finance in America, and ranking high as one of the premier colleges for those looking to learn about information technology. As far as diversity is concerned, there are more female undergrad students (53%) than there are males (47%). There’s also diversity when it comes to the ages of the students. 30% of them are between the ages of 18-19, 33% are between the ages of 20-21, and 13% of students are over the age of 25. Further diversity numbers at U of H tell us that 11% of the students are Black, 24% are Asian, 37% are Hispanic, 17% are White, and 5% of the students are international. Overall, this is a very diverse university with a lot of good reasons to enroll.

College: University of North Texas

Located in Denton, Texas, the University of North Texas is a public college that gets high marks in several areas. According to Niche.com, this university has high marks in several metrics, including being one of the top Hispanic-serving schools in America, having the best food, and being one of the best places to get an education in Information Technology. The school is also quite diverse. Of the student base, 55% are female and 45% are male. As far as age, while 32 percent of the students are young, between the ages of 18 and 21 years old, there are also 14% of students who are over the age of 25. Finally, when it comes to cultural backgrounds, 15% of students are Black, 8% of students are Asian, 28% are Hispanic, 38% are White, and 4% are from overseas. There’s even diversity in politics: 11% of students say they’re more conservative, 26% say they’re liberal, and 31% are moderate.
