The Healthiest Fast Food Choices at McDonald's

With locations in 120 countries and more than $6 billion in sales during the first quarter of 2024, McDonald's is one of the most recognizable brands worldwide. Known primarily for its hamburgers, McDonald's may not be the first choice for health-focused diners. However, there are menu items that qualify as healthier options. We have done the research and made a list of the top picks for you.

To determine the healthiest menu items at McDonald’s, MomsWhoThink.com reviewed data on nutrition for menu items from MenuStat, a program of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute. McDonald’s food menu items with at least 50 calories were ranked based on the ratio of combined protein and dietary fiber to calories.
