Have you ever made a squash casserole before? If not, this is your sign to make one at the next opportunity. This squash casserole recipe uses fresh yellow squash, along with several other important ingredients. The end result is a delicious, deeply satisfying dish that you'll want to come back to again and again.
If you can get your hands on the freshest yellow squash, that will only elevate this recipe to new heights. Grow the squash yourself, or check your local produce stand for what they have to offer. See if you can find some fresh onion and fresh green pepper too, while you're at it.
In addition to the onion and pepper, this recipe gets much of its flavor from the cheddar cheese and paprika. A little dash of salt and pepper helps round out the flavor profile of this casserole. With a squash dish, you don't want too much seasoning. You want a recipe that uses just enough to make the dish taste flavorful, but not so much that the taste of the squash is completely overpowered.
