Pork sandwiches are kicked up a notch with this recipe. We use a little chili powder and a little hot sauce to create a great pork sandwich that your family will want again and again. With the addition of Mexican-style diced tomatoes, Monterey Jack cheese, and jalapeno peppers, you won't question why this recipe is as raved-about as it is.
This recipe cooks entirely in the slow cooker, meaning an easy dinner for you! The pork will need to cook for eight to ten hours on low, so it's easy to put in before work. You'll come home to the smells of delicious, spicy pork filling your home.
You can serve these sandwiches with whatever side you want, but French fries are a great choice. There are a lot of different types of French fries out there; any of them fit great with this recipe, so pick your favorite cut! Cook them in either the air fryer or the oven.
If you don't want to have to cook a side for this dinner, no problem. Simply make a simple side salad, or serve some applesauce with cinnamon. Both of these side dish options are healthy, packing this meal with lots of vitamins and minerals. Slow Cooker Spicy Pork Sandwiches
Ingredients:
3½ pound pork roast
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon hot sauce
1 (14½ ounce) can Mexican-style diced tomatoes, undrained
Kaiser rolls
Sliced Monterey Jack cheese with jalapeño peppers
Lettuce
Sliced tomato
Directions:
1. Place pork in a greased 5-6 quart slow cooker.
2. Sprinkle with chili powder and pepper sauce. Pour tomatoes over pork.
3. Cover; cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
4. Remove pork from cooker and place in a large bowl. Shred pork, using 2 forks; discard any bones.
5. Return pork to cooker and mix well. Using a slotted spoon to remove pork from the cooker, fill each roll with ½ cup pork mixture. Top with cheese, lettuce and tomato.
