At What Age Can My Child Play Sudoku?
If this is one of your favorite activities, it's a no-brainer to introduce it to your child! Very young children will have a hard time understanding the instructions, let alone solving the puzzles. You can always have them watch while you solve; this will help them gain an early interest in these puzzles!
Usually, sudoku is recommended for children ages 8 and up. By this age, a child's brain has developed enough for them to solve puzzles by thinking critically. Start with easier sudoku puzzles; if you can find ones aimed at children or beginners, that's a bonus! Be available to answer questions and to offer pointers, but try to let your child solve each puzzle on their own.
Sudoku is a great way to help your child's brain develop, and to keep them busy on a rainy day! Sudoku books are quite cheap and readily available, so you can stock up for those days when your child has nothing else to do. Who knows; maybe one day your child will be better than you at solving these puzzles!
