- 3 onions, minced
- 3 Tablespoons butter
- 1 Tablespoon flour
- 2 cups each light cream and milk
- Salt
- Pepper
- Toasted French bread slices
- ¾ cup grated gruyere cheese
Instructions
- Cook onions in butter 5 minutes. Blend in flour.
- Add cream and milk; bring to boil. Simmer 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Put toasted bread in a tureen. Add soup; sprinkle with cheese.
