Mamie Eisenhower Chocolate Fudge Recipes

We bet this isn't a fudge flavor you've tried before! Mamie Eisenhower fudge contains a number of unique ingredients, including marshmallow and German chocolate. If you've already tried all of the traditional fudge flavors, then this is the recipe for you. Let's get into it!

Ingredients:

4 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 Tbsp. butter
1 can evaporated milk
Pinch of salt
12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate or chocolate bits
12 oz. German sweet chocolate
1 pint marshmallow cream
2 cup chopped nutmeats

Directions:

1. Heat the sugar, butter, salt and evaporated milk over low heat, stirring until the chocolate dissolves.

2. Bring to a boil, and boil for six minutes.

3. Put the chocolate bits, German chocolate, marshmallow cream, and nutmeats into a heat resistant bowl.

4. Pour the mixture you've been boiling over the ingredients you've just placed in the bowl.

5. Beat until the chocolate has melted, and then pour it all into a pan. Let it stand for a few hours before cutting it into fudge sized pieces.

Other Fudge Flavors to Make

After you've made this unique Mamie Eisenhower fudge, give these other great fudge flavors a try:

  • Rocky Road. A lot of people love Rocky Road ice cream; if you're one of those people, why not try it in fudge form?
  • Chocolate peanut butter. Chocolate fudge and peanut butter fudge are both exceptionally popular flavors. Why not combine them together?
  • Root beer float. This one might be a bit of a niche flavor depending on who you ask, but if you love root beer floats there's no reason not to try this fudge flavor.
  • Gingerbread. Gingerbread isn't just for cookies! You can make fudge out of it, too. If it's the holiday season, give this fudge flavor a try.
  • Peppermint. Speaking of great holiday flavors, peppermint is an essential fudge flavor to try this Christmas. Make some peppermint bark to go along with it!
  • Oreo. Who doesn't love Oreos? Oreo fudge is a great flavor to pick when you want something different than traditional chocolate fudge, but don't want to go too wild.
  • Pumpkin. This is the perfect flavor to choose in the fall. If you want a dessert other than pumpkin pie to serve at a fall gathering, give pumpkin fudge a shot.
  • Orange creamsicle. The perfect summer fudge flavor. This is sweet and citrusy, reminding anyone who eats it of times on the beach.
  • Maple walnut. Another popular ice cream flavor is maple walnut. This fudge flavor is a lot like the ice cream flavor, so you can try it having a good idea of what it will taste like.
  • Turtle. So many different desserts come in a “Turtle” flavor. Pies, cakes, and cookies are just a few examples. There's Turtle fudge, too!
  • S'mores. Another great summer fudge flavor is s'mores. If having a campfire isn't in the realm of possibility, making s'mores fudge can scratch the itch for real s'mores. This is a fun one to make for kids!
