When you have a busy night ahead of you, figuring out what to make for dinner can be a real challenge. This is especially true on a holiday like Halloween, when the kids have to go out trick-or-treating and you need to be ready to give candy out yourself. It can be tempting to just order food, but resist the temptation by making this recipe instead.
These Jack-O-Lantern sandwiches are an adorable way to provide your family with a quick dinner before the night's festivities. These are simple sandwiches; all it takes to make them is some bread, cheese, and an oven. You'll also need some basic knife skills to cut out a Jack-O-Lantern shape in the bread.
If your kids want to give you a hand with this recipe, have them arrange the cheese on the uncut piece of bread and then place the cut piece on top. Handle the cutting yourself. Nobody wants to spend Halloween in the emergency room!
Serve these sandwiches with some chips for a complete meal. While it certainly isn't the healthiest combination out there, Halloween isn't about being healthy. After all, hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of pieces of candy will be eaten on this night. Indulge a little and have a dinner that's both easy and delicious.
