  • 8 oz (225g) pasta of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz/400g) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Simmer the sauce for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and stir until well combined. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta evenly with the creamy tomato basil sauce.
  6. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta and toss until the cheese is melted and the sauce coats the pasta.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve immediately.
