A lot of slow cooker recipes use cream cheese as a major ingredient, and this is definitely one of them! Cream cheese is common in slow cooker recipes for a reason. It offers a unique taste and creaminess that other ingredients just can't seem to replicate.
Along with cream cheese, this recipe makes use of buttermilk ranch salad dressing mix, cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. The amount of salt and pepper you'll add will vary depending on your preferences! With only a small number of ingredients needed, it's easy to get what you need for this recipe.
This recipe will cook on low for six to seven hours, minus the ham and cheese. After this time has passed, you'll add the cheese and ham and cook everything for an additional 15 to 30 minutes. Then, this dish is ready to serve! Each bite will be packed with flavor, thanks in no small part to the ranch dressing mix.
If you purchase ham that isn't pre-cooked, you will need to cook it prior to putting it in the slow cooker. This is something you can do while the other ingredients in this recipe cook! One of the great things about slow cooker recipes is that they allow you to do a lot of other tasks while dinner cooks.
