Cleaning Stainless Steel the EASY Way!
When my husband and I bought our new fridge, I noticed fingerprint-resistant stainless steel appliances, but didn't want to spend the extra money, so we went with regular stainless steel. I soon regretted my choice and got tired of cleaning stainless steel everyday! I couldn't believe how quickly we had fingerprints on the fridge and it looked so messy if I didn't clean off the fingerprints everyday.
After a friend mentioned that cleaning stainless steel with olive oil would repel fingerprints, I didn't believe that it would actually work, but I gave it a try anyway!
How to Clean Stainless Steel Fridge (and other stainless steel appliances)
I say “cleaning stainless steel” but what I'm really doing is polishing. And the polish is what repels fingerprints! You will need to clean your stainless steel before you polish though, and here's how:
STEP 1: Clean your fridge with Stainless steel cleaner or even just vinegar if you want to use natural cleaner
Step 2: Dab a clean cloth with some olive oil and run it along your stainless steel until it's been buffed along the entire surface. You will then use the dry part of the towel to soak up any excess oil.
Repeat this process weekly, or as needed for a smudge-resistant fridge, and a happy mom! And now that you have tackled this, you are ready for our one-touch rule for keeping a clean house!
