Chicken a la King is one of the more well-known and popular takes on chicken out there. As a busy parent, any easy version of a good recipe is like music to your ears. That's why we've taken Chicken a la King and simplified it with the help of a slow cooker.
Slow cookers are famous for cutting down on the time the average cook spends in the kitchen. When your life is dominated by work, sports practices, club meetings, and spending time with family, finding time for dinner can be difficult. While complicated and time-consuming recipes certainly have their place, it isn't on a weekday night!
This Chicken a la King recipe will take seven to eight hours to cook. After this time has passed, you'll need to add in the peas and cook for another 30 minutes. It's important that you let the chicken fully cook before adding the peas; don't try to cut corners by adding them too early!
As long as someone is home to add the peas, this is a perfect dinner to throw in the slow cooker while you go off to work, run errands, or spend time with family. Having someone (or something) else do the cooking for you is always a treat. Easy slow cooker meals like this help keep you away from fast food.
