The Easiest Chicken Casserole Recipe (Your New Favorite Dump Dinner)

Every home chef should have their go-to casserole recipe or dump dinner. If you don't have one, though, consider this your new favorite! This is perhaps the easiest chicken casserole recipe you'll ever find — you literally dump all of the ingredients into a bowl, stir it around, put it in a pan and bake for 25 minutes — hence the name “dump dinner.”

Chicken Casserole Ingredients

While some chicken casseroles are made with noodles, this recipe's carb is long-grain and wild rice. And thanks to products like Uncle Ben's Ready Rice, which is already cooked, your time savings and ease of execution level just went through the roof. Grab a rotisserie chicken at the grocery along with a handful of other ingredients (green beans, pimentos, water chestnuts, mayo, cheddar and cream of celery soup), and you'll have tonight's meal ready in no time.

This is all you need to make this amazing chicken casserole. It clocks in at around $20 (or less!).

How to Make This Dump Dinner

As the name implies, you literally dump all of these ingredients into a bowl, stir it until well-combined, and then pop it in the oven for 25 minutes until it's bubbly and hot. It's the very definition of a dump dinner.

When to Serve This Chicken Casserole

While we most often lean on this go-to recipe for family dinners in a pinch, this is also a great dish to bring to someone who just had a baby or experienced a loss. It's an easy dish to make several batches at once, so it's a great one to feed a crowd. There really isn't a bad time to serve this casserole.

Chicken Casserole Side Dish Ideas

If you're wondering what to serve with this chicken casserole, we don't blame you. It's tough because there are so many amazing flavors already present in the recipe itself. However, we often serve some sort of dinner roll or bread. Other options include a fresh fruit salad, sauteed Brussels sprouts, or some steamed broccoli.
