Deep Dish Apple Crumb Pie

Ingredients:

4 cup apples, sliced, peeled, a little thicker wedges than for pie
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/3 cup orange juice
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup butter
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons orange rind, grated

Directions:

Place apples in deep pie pan, add orange juice.

Mix together sugars, orange rind, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and flour. Cut in butter. Spread evenly over apples.

Bake in 350 degree F oven 1 hour. Serve warm or cold with a topping of ice cream.
