Country French Cheese Ball

This French cheese ball recipe is a delicious addition to any holiday cocktail party. The ingredients are flavorful and deliciously decadent. Cheese balls are easy to prepare and take very little prep time. This French cheese ball is a treat and served with a variety of your favorite crackers, you will find it to be a real crowd-pleaser.

The cream cheese, cheddar, and bacon give this cheese ball the extra kick. Go for a sharp or extra sharp cheddar for this cheese ball as it will make a big difference over using a milder cheese. You could also use a whipped cream cheese with chives for more pop. The crispy bacon bits should also take this cheese ball to another level, and you may need to make more than one for your party.

After combining all the ingredients, wrap it in plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator to harden a bit. You could also pop it into the freezer for 15 to 20 minutes if you are pressed for time. You just want it to harden to the consistency of a cheese ball so that crackers still glide through it when its served.

This French cheese ball recipe can be served year-round at parties and gatherings. It’s a big hit during the holidays and on Super Bowl Sunday. Everyone will be asking for the recipe.

Some irresistible crackers to serve with a French cheese ball include rich buttery crackers, water crackers, and wheat crackers because of their slight sweetness.

You could pass on the crackers and pick up a fresh baguette from your local bakery. Simply slice the baguette, drizzle olive oil or butter over them, and bake them until they are toasted and golden. It’s the perfect complement to your cheese ball. You could also get a bag of mini bagels and toast them.

You can also include some mixed nuts with cashews, pecans, and walnuts. A fresh fruit tray with grapes and sliced pears apples go well with cheese balls and make a wonderful snack plate for your guests.

Fresh vegetables like celery, broccoli, and carrots also go well with cheese balls and cocktail parties. A variety of pickles, chips, and sliced sausage or hard salami round out the treats.

Wines that pair well with the French cheese ball include a sweet Riesling or a bubbly champagne. Riesling is a German wine that pairs wonderfully with cheddar. It will bring out the flavors in the cheese ball. You could also select a rich red wine like a merlot or a chardonnay which is wonderful with cheese.
