You’ll Love This Chicken in Orange Sauce Recipe

Chicken is a great base for any recipe. It is a healthy and lean meat and it works with a variety of sauces and seasonings, so you can make a wide range of chicken dishes.

This recipe is for chicken in orange sauce. But what exactly is orange sauce? Is it sauce that is orange in color? Is it sauce that tastes like oranges? Read on to find out.

Easy Orange Chicken Sauce

Well, if you thought that orange sauce was the sauce that was orange and/or the sauce that tastes like oranges, you were right- on both counts.

The primary ingredient in our orange sauce is orange juice, and that’s what’s responsible for giving it it's orange color and flavoring. Other ingredients like ginger, brown sugar, and soy sauce contribute to the taste. Of course, there are many variations on the orange sauce recipe. You can add ingredients like white sugar, vinegar, garlic, and red chili flakes to enhance the flavor and give it a kick.

Best of all, the recipe is exceptionally simple to make. You just mix the ingredients to make the sauce, pour it over the chicken, and put it in the oven to bake. It’s that easy! And beyond adding orange sauce to chicken, it can also be added to duck, steak, pork, or any protein you choose.

Sides to Serve With This Chicken in Orange Sauce

There are a lot of sides you can choose to serve with this orange chicken, but the top one has got to be rice. It's a classic side to serve with all kinds of saucy chicken recipes. Generally, the best combination is the chicken over the top of the rice. The orange sauce will combine with the rice as well as the chicken.

If rice isn't in your interests, mixed veggies can also be a good idea. This one won't be terribly popular with the kids, but it's a great way to offer more health benefits in this meal. Frozen mixed veggies are your best bet, since they can easily and quickly be prepared.

A simple side salad can also work great with this recipe. You can pick whatever ingredients you want, but we recommend just sticking to the classics. If you want something with more of a nutritional punch than lettuce, opt for spinach or kale. Both are considered highly nutritious and beneficial foods!

Regardless of what side you choose to serve, this recipe will be one you'll come back to again and again. It's simple and delicious- what more can you ask for out of a recipe? Many chicken recipes out there don't pack the right punch when it comes to flavor. With this chicken recipe, as well as all of our others, you never need to worry about that.
