Spiral Macaroni
One of the things that set this chicken and pasta dish apart is the use of macaroni spirals.
The debate on whether different shapes of pasta taste different is one that rages on in culinary blogs everywhere. However, there does seem to be something to it. According to experts, it all comes down to the surface to mass ratios. This affects how the pasta cooks and how much starch gets rubbed off when the pasta boils.
The shape also affects how well it holds the sauce. The texture is another factor. The texture is influenced by the shape and, even though it may not have as much of an effect on the flavor, it does play into the eating experience.
Spiral pasta holds sauce rather well, as the sauce can adhere to the spirals. It provides a springy, light texture in the mouth, which helps to make this dish a favorite. In the case of this recipe, there is no real sauce, only the butter; as well as salt, pepper, and garlic seasoning. However, the spirals work to lock in these flavors, which makes the dish light and tasty.

Chicken Macaroni and Cheese
This one will be a big hit with the kids. Chicken mac and cheese is a very popular variation on one of America's most popular dishes. The use of chicken adds even more protein when paired with the cheese. There are many ways you can make this dish; let's cover a couple of them!
To make regular chicken mac and cheese, simply add shredded chicken into your mac and cheese and mix. It's best to do this before the cheese is added, so that the cheese will cover both the pasta and the chicken. Use a variety of cheeses for a bold dish, or stick to classics like Cheddar.
Buffalo chicken mac and cheese is incredibly popular, and for good reason. It's both spicy and savory. Buffalo sauce is the key ingredient here. Make sure to thoroughly coat both the chicken and the pasta with the sauce, to ensure every bite is appropriately spicy. The heat level of the sauce you use is up to you! Buffalo sauce tends to be on the milder side, but you can use a hotter variation if you want.
