This Legendary Chick-fil-A Menu Item is Finally Coming Back

Chick-fil-A fans are nothing if not devoted to this beloved fast-food restaurant. Everyone has their favorite menu item, so when said item disappears from the menu, it’s a real bummer. Last summer, one supremely popular item hit the menu for a limited time, and we just heard that it’s coming back — and this time even better than before! Save the date for the return of this much-lauded meal, which returns to menus nationwide starting August 26.

A Brief History of Chick-fil-A

S. Truett Cathy and his brother Ben started a restaurant called The Dwarf Grill in 1946. Building on the success of that venture, Truett founded Chick-fil-A in 1967 when he opened the first restaurant in Atlanta’s Greenbriar Shopping Center.

Chick-fil-A Here, Chick-fil-A There

As of August 2024, there are more than 3,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants in 48 states as well as in Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and Canada.

Why Chick-fil-A Closed Sundays

Company founder S. Truett Cathy had experience working seven days a week in a restaurant, and he knew exhausting it could be. So he made an intentional decision to close the restaurants on Sunday so his employees could have a day of rest and enjoy church on Sunday mornings if they chose.

No Beef?

While the entire business is built on the “Eat Mor Chikin” notion, there are actually about 12 locations that serve burgers and steaks and they have since 1946.

Limited Edition Items

From time to time, Chick-fil-A will introduce limited edition menu items, and such was the case last summer when the restaurant served up the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich.

What’s Included?

The foundation for this crowd favorite is the original Chick-fil-A chicken filet. It’s then topped with pimento cheese and a drizzle of honey and topped with pickled jalapenos for an added kick.

But Wait! There’s More …

Well this tasty sandwich isn’t the only meal turning heads. It’s bringing along a spicy sidekick: the Spicy Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich, which is identical to the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich but with a spicy chicken filet as the foundation.

A Sweet Ending

Lest dessert be left behind, save room for the Chick-fil-A Banana Pudding Milkshake, which originally debuted in 2011 and will also be returning to menus nationwide.
