You’ll Love This Bubble Pizza Recipe

There’s no doubt about it, everyone loves pizza! But ordering from the pizza shop every night can get expensive. What’s more, sometimes you just want a dinner made with homemade goodness! Homemade pizza is also often healthier, since it lacks some of the additives that raise the calorie content of store-bought pizza.

Plus, making pizza at home means you have the chance to let your kids lend you a hand! Allowing your kids to help you with dinner is always a great idea. It gives you the chance to make great memories with them, while teaching them valuable lessons they won't forget.

Bubble pizza is a take-off on the traditional pizza recipe that offers some variety and ingredients you can trust. It's a fun way to serve your family dinner, and kids are sure to enjoy it. Plus, it's highly customizable! Read on to find out more about this recipe and what you can do to make it for your family tonight.

Bubble Pizza Recipe

There are a few variations you can make on the bubble pizza recipe. The one we have here is pretty basic.

The base, or crust, is made from store-bought biscuit dough. Layers of sauce and meat are added. We use pepperoni and ground beef, but any type of meat can be used, including sausage, pork, and more. Cheese is sprinkled over the top. Then you can add your choice of toppings like peppers, mushrooms, onions, ham, bacon… and the list goes on.

When the whole thing is assembled, just pop it in the oven, take it out when ready, and enjoy the home-made goodness. It’s really like a pizza where the toppings are both inside and outside; it can even be compared to a lasagna dish.

When thinking of variations, vegetarians can make this dish to their liking by substituting the meat filling with veggies like spinach, zucchini, peppers, onions, and more. Home cooks may prefer to use homemade dough over store-bought. Homemade doughs can be prepared using a flour and yeast mix, although those who want to go an easier route can make it using Bisquick.

You can substitute tomato sauce with a cream sauce to make for a white stuffed pizza or add spices to give the recipe an exotic kick.

Bubble Up Pizza Casserole

One type of variation on the bubble up pizza is the bubble up pizza casserole. This is very similar to the bubble up pizza, only the dough is sprinkled throughout the casserole rather than made into the crust and all the ingredients are mixed together rather than layered.

Just like the bubble up pizza, the casserole can have different ingredients added to make for great variations. A wide selection of veggies will work well in this dish, and different meats and sauces can be used as well.

This casserole is a nice twist because it doesn’t require as much of the dough to be used. This allows the chef to add more healthy meat and vegetables, reducing carbs and calories.

Other Variations

Another variation on bubble up pizza include the bubble up pizza ring.

In this recipe, pepperoni (or another meat of your choice) is rolled into a ball of dough, which is then topped with cheese. These dough balls are then put into a pan to bake together to make a great pull apart meal. Serve with tomato sauce for dipping.

A Keto Mexican Bubble Pizza is another variation. Here, the base is made of a cream cheese, egg, and cheese mixture with Mexican seasonings added for zest. The middle layer consists of taco meat and cheese and the toppings can be veggies of your choice.

No matter what variation you choose to make, bubble pizza is always a kid-friendly dinner that is hearty enough for adults with the addition of pepperoni and hamburger. This is a perfect weeknight recipe, that requires just a few ingredients ensuring you are in and out of the kitchen in a flash. What’s more, it’s a crowd-pleaser that your family will love.
