Boomers Can't Get Enough Of These 10 All-You-Can-Eat Restaurants

The first all-you-can-eat buffet in the United States was established in 1946 at the El Rancho Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada. Opened by Herb McDonald, it was called the Buckaroo Buffet and was opened for 24 hours a day. It was a popular concept that caught on and for decades was a restaurant business model that fared very well. While many have fond memories of visiting buffets during the 80s and 90s, these all-you-can-eat restaurants hold a special place in the hearts of Boomers.

All-you-can-eat restaurants aren’t as popular as they used to be. Customers today are more focused on healthier dining, with concerns about food waste, and they seek food items that are of higher quality. The COVID-19 pandemic didn't help and many buffets that were already struggling closed down for good, like once-popular American buffets, like Old Country Buffet and HomeTown Buffet.

To give you an idea of which buffets are the most popular, check out the 10 top buffets in America for Boomers below.
