America’s Most Beautiful Homes Are Hidden in These Remote Towns

Some people love city living. Being able to walk to the corner store, having a local coffee shop on almost every corner, museums nearby, and just about everything within walking distance too, without the need to use a car is an ideal many people dream about. Others prefer the draw of the wide open spaces that rural living has to offer.

Remote living may be the opposite of urban living but it also has its own appeal. Rural areas have fewer inhabitants, fewer crowds, and less pollution. Those who reside there generally have more access to outdoor activities and can enjoy the beautiful landscapes and nature that are practically at their door.

If you're planning to relocate, opting for a second home, or simply want to look at beautiful homes in gorgeous towns, we've assembled a list of America's most beautiful homes that are hidden in these remote towns. To determine these beautiful homes, Moms Who Think reviewed five-year data on median home value from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2022 American Community Survey.

Cities, towns, and Census-designated places located at least 20 miles away from cities with populations of 50,000 or more were ranked based on median home value. Geometry attributes used to calculate the distance between city centroids came from the U.S. Census Bureau. Only places with at least 500 residents were considered.
