A Peek Under My Sinks

Deep Clean and De-Clutter: Under the Sinks

As promised, I'm going to share one of my de-cluttering tasks from this month. I've looked all over for great ideas to tame the mess under my sinks. Some are so gorgeous and detailed, I love them, but I live with a man and small children. Things like that never last long in my house. I also can't justify spending $50 on organizing something no one sees but myself. This is a peek at how I organized 3 of my cabinets for $7.

First up, my kitchen sink (above). I had that big, bulky basket that wasn't doing me any favors. So I swapped it out for 3 small organizers (.76 cents each from Target), labeled them with chalkboard labels I already had, and done. I find that the more I label things, the more things get put back in the right place. I moved some of the items we don't use that often to the back of the cabinet, and put everything else in plain site so it gets used and we don't buy a replacement.

Next is our half bath. This one sees the most action since it's on the first floor. Again, wrong basket choice. I used two organizers to split up the suncare items and first aid items. In the small 3 drawer organizer, I have nail stuff, lady stuff (so people can help themselves if need be), and the bottom I store extra towels in. The top organizer I also had from before and it holds some miscellaneous items.

Lastly, the kids' bathroom and guest bathroom. I always stock up on the kids' bath and lotion products when they're on sale so putting them into a basket helps me easily track how much I have and keeps them from all tipping over. The bin is from the dollar tree. Another first aid basket, because we have two toddlers. My staples of extra soap, clorox wipes, and toilet bowl cleaner. And lastly, the basket of feminine products.

Overall, they may not be the prettiest, but they are super functional and hardly cost me anything (as a bonus my husband should be able to find everything by himself since it is labeled).
