Sides to Serve With Chicken Tenders

Chicken tenders are great for kids, since they're tasty and easy for their small hands to handle. Serve one of these kid-friendly sides along with your chicken tenders:

  • French fries. Of course these had to be first on the list! All kids love French fries. Like chicken tenders, they're easy for their small hands to handle. Plus, they can be dipped in the same sauces as chicken tenders.
  • Applesauce. If you want a healthier side to go with chicken tenders, applesauce is a great bet. Applesauce is sweet, making it wonderful for kids. Throw in a little cinnamon for extra flavor.
  • Tater tots. Tater tots can be dipped in a variety of sauces, making them similar to French fries and perfect to pair with chicken tenders. If you've had a lot of French fries lately, try tater tots to switch things up.
  • Mac and cheese. Another favorite among kids, mac and cheese is so easy to make. Grab a box from the store and make it, or try out a homemade recipe. Whatever you pick, this side dish is sure to be a popular choice with kids.
  • Sweet potatoes. Regular mashed potatoes or baked potatoes may not be a favorite of kids, but they're sure to love sweet potatoes. Like applesauce, this is a great choice to make if you want a healthier side to go with your chicken tenders.
  • Biscuits. If your kids love bread of any kind, biscuits are a great choice for a side with chicken tenders. Throw some butter on, and you've got an easy side dish that your kids will absolutely love.
  • Potato wedges. These differ from French fries, but they're similar enough to be loved by kids all the same! You can make them with herbs and spices for flavor, or make them plain and let your kids dip them in whatever they want. Ask your kids what they'd prefer, or try both options in two separate chicken tender dinners!
  • Onion rings. If you haven't introduced your kids to onion rings, now might be a great time to do so! Onion rings are crisp, delicious, and a great switch from ordinary fries.
  • Corn. If all else fails, corn is a great option for a side dish. It's tasty and easy to come by, but it won't offer much nutritional value. Humans can't digest corn, meaning that the only benefit it gives us is its taste! If your kids aren't interested in any of these other side options, or if you want to make it easy on yourself, serve corn. A frozen bag of corn is easy to make; just pop it in the microwave and enjoy!
