Other Kid-Friendly Ideas Beginning with Y

We've got plenty of additional ideas here for you to try after you give the recipe above a shot. Let's take a look:

  • Yams. While yams are technically different from sweet potatoes, a lot of people use the terms interchangeably. Yams are sweet in taste, making them a great choice for picky kids.
  • Yogurt. Yogurt is healthy, coming packed with healthy bacteria that will keep your kids' guts in balance. There are so many different flavors of yogurt out there, so there's sure to be one that your kids love. When in doubt, try Trix yogurt or similar kid-focused yogurt brands.
  • Yellow watermelon. Yellow watermelon is certainly unusual! If your kids are familiar with typical red watermelon, yellow watermelon is sure to raise their eyebrows! It will also make them a talking point at school; all of their peers will want to know about their oddly-colored fruit!
  • Yellow curry. Curry is growing in popularity in America, and for good reason. It's delicious, especially when served over rice. Your kids will love trying all the different types of curry, yellow curry included.
  • Yams chips. Also referred to as sweet potato chips, yam chips are a healthier alternative to regular potato chips. Yam chips are a great snack for your kids, or a good thing to include in their lunches.
  • Yellow cake. What kid doesn't love cake? Yellow cake is easy to make; there are a lot of different brands that offer their own yellow cake mix. Grab some from the store and make it for your kids or for your next family gathering. Frost with chocolate frosting, or go with something unique.
  • Yule Log cake. Traditionally served at Christmas, a Yule Log cake is a chocolate sponge cake filled with mascarpone whipped cream and covered with chocolate ganache. It takes a good amount of effort and time to prepare, but it's absolutely delicious. You can make this for your kids this holiday season, or make it any time they want a chocolate cake! If you're not making it during the holidays, consider calling it a Swiss roll or chocolate roll cake.
