Affordable Homes Await in This Hot Springs Town Starting at $112,500

Many people travel to certain areas and pay a premium to unwind among nature’s finest – remote regions that offer quiet, rest, and relaxation with the ultimate recreational facilities – hot springs. Considered nature’s jacuzzis, hot springs offer visitors opportunities to enjoy nature while sitting back, and taking a break from the busy pace of life.

Some people travel far and wide to enjoy hot springs, but there’s no need to travel when you can relocate and purchase a home in one of the many regions of the United States that is home to a hot spring. Land and homes are more affordable in these hot springs towns and these geothermal pools will help take your mind off of the daily grind. (If you prefer historical areas, check out regions where homes are affordable.)

To determine hot springs towns where the most affordable homes are, Moms Who Think reviewed five-year data on median household value and median household income from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2022 American Community Survey. Cities, towns, and villages were ranked based on the ratio of median home value to median household income. Only cities with at least 4,000 residents and at least five hot springs within a 25-mile radius were considered.

Thermal springs locations are from the National Centers for Environmental Information of the NOAA. Data was aggregated from points to cities, towns, and villages using spatial boundaries from the U.S. Census Bureau’s TIGER/Line shapefile program. City, town, and village boundaries are current as of 2022. Data on population is also from the U.S. Census Bureau ACS and is for 2022. All spatial analysis was conducted in GIS.
