Red Lobster filed for bankruptcy this week and is closing 99 locations across the country. The closures are widespread, covering 99 states in total. However, some states will see more closures than others. Let’s take a look at where the most Red Lobsters are closing. At the end of this article, we’ll have a complete list of every restaurant that’s closing.
10 (Tie). Georgia – 3 Locations Closing
Prior to Red Lobster announcing the “temporary” closure of 99 stores, equipment from 48 stores had already been put up for auction. From that group, we already knew three Red Lobster locations in Georgia were closing. No new restaurants were added to the list of closures now that Red Lobster has increased the store closings to 99 stores.

Mississippi is another state with three locations closing. Like Kansas, there were six locations total in the state before these closures, so there will only be three remaining stores across the state. The remaining locations are in Meridien, Southaven, and Tupelo.

Oklahoma is now down to four Red Lobsters after three closed in the state. The remaining stores are in Muskogee, Norman, Shawnee, and Tulsa.

North Carolina will see its former store count of 17 Red Lobsters drop by four. Locations in Burlington, Cary, Durham, and Rocky Mount are closing.

New Jersey falls from 15 Red Lobster locations down to 11 as locations in Bridgewater, East Brunswick, Ledgewood, and Lawrenceville close. The remaining locations include Cherry Hill, Paramus, Mays Landing, Secaucus, Toms River, Vineland, and Woodbury.

Red Lobster closed four locations in Maryland that are all in the suburban Washington D.C. area. While these locations mean Montgomery County citizens will have to drive further for their Red Lobster, locations in areas like Annapolis, Salisbury, and Owings Mill still have nearby Red Lobsters.

Finally, we end with Florida which has an incredible 17 locations close. There are no shortage of seafood restaurants in the state, which likely took a toll on Red Lobsters there. There were previously 47 Red Lobsters in the state, so after these closures there will be 30 remaining.
