Please don't call me dramatic when I say that this recipe changed my life for the better. I may or may not have been serenading my pizza dough with “For Good” from Wicked after finding this recipe!
I don't post recipes on my blog much because they just aren't my thing, so you know it has to be a big deal when I do. And I'm sure many of you already know about it, but if you don't…let me have my moment:
Did you know…. {wait for it}…. Did you know that you can make pizza dough using FLOUR AND GREEK YOGURT?!
I know, fabulous. And it's even good. If you know me, you know that I LOVE pizza. I could eat it every night for dinner. Really. But if you really know me, you also know that I'm too lazy to make homemade crust…which means we have it every month or so, on English muffins. 🙂
No more English Muffins folks! I can have my very own homemade pizza dough in five minutes. Pizza is now on my list of last-minute dinners and I couldn't be happier about it!
Here's my crew hard at work:
I found a lot of recipes saying to use equal parts flour and yogurt, but I'm glad I read some cautions and decided to go with this recipe from Weary Chef. It was perfect.
Check it out below:
The original 2-ingredient pizza dough recipe calls for Self-rising flour and Greek Yogurt, but if you don't have self-rising flour, all it really is is flour+baking powder+salt. I also added garlic salt for added flavor.
2-Ingredient Pizza Dough Recipe Using Flour & Greek Yogurt
Ingredients:
- 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour + 1/4 cup more
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp Kosher Salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 Cup Plain Greek Yogurt
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Combine all ingredients and mix together using your dough hook on medium speed. I did mine for about 5 minutes (chop your toppings while dough is mixing).
After 5 minutes of mixing, add more flour (1 Tb at a time), until dough thickens and forms into a ball. It should not be super gooey at this point.
Divide dough in half and roll into two crusts on a floured surface.
Bake pizza on a greased sheet for about 15 minutes (until crust has browned and cheese is melted).
If you need a pizza sauce recipe, you can find on Weary Chef.
