Rather than use store-bought Sloppy Joe mix, we're going to be making our own. Don't worry- this doesn't add any unnecessary steps. Many of the needed ingredients are likely already in your pantry. Remember that you'll need to brown and drain the ground beef before putting it in the slow cooker.
If you want, you can do this the night before. That will allow you to quickly put this recipe together in the slow cooker the next day. This recipe will need to spend four to five hours in the crock pot, on low. You'll need to have a five- or six-quart slow cooker on hand to make this recipe.

Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes
Ingredients:
3 pounds ground beef, browned and drained
1 onion, finely chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
28 ounce can tomato sauce
¾ cup ketchup
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
8 sandwich buns, split
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except sandwich buns in a greased 5-6 quart slow cooker.
2. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours.
3. Serve in sandwich buns; top with shredded cheddar cheese if desired.
